Dog Tag Research – John Edward Madden
July 1, 2016 – Patriot Connections/Sue Quinn-Morris was asked by Ed “Tug” Devine in finding the veteran some dog tags belonged to. He indicated the dog tags were found in a car, in or near Vineland, NJ, probably in the early 80’s…..nothing else to go on, but photos of the dog tags.
Sue was able to identify and veteran they belonged to;

John Edward Madden was born and raised in NJ and later moved to Florida. He was a Sgt in the USMC during Vietnam. He passed away at the age of 64, on July 5, 2011 at the Gainesville VA Medical Ctr.
He was a disabled USMC Vietnam who is survived by his wife Kathleen DeCarvalho-Madden (Keystone Heights FL), mother Margaret Madden (Belmar, NJ), daughter Caitlin Madden (Keystone Heights, FL), grandson Logan Richardson. He is preceded in death by his younger brother Michael Madden (Belmar,NJ).
A memorial mass was held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at St. William Catholic Church, Keystone Heights with Father Michael Williams officiating. Full military honors.
Sue Quinn-Morris spoke with his mother Margaret and widow Kathy, who were both elated and emotional about his dog tags. Ed “Tug” Devine is now in the process of sending the dog tags to his widow. She will ulitimately give them to John;s daughter Caitlyn.
