Memorial Day will be celebrated across the county. Here are some of the local events being held.

Califon

The Califon Recreation Committee will present its 16th Annual Califon Memorial Day Parade starting at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 29, on School Street in the borough. The parade will feature St. Ann’s of Hampton Pipes and Drums, the 15th New Jersey Volunteers Infantry Company A accompanied by the N. J. Field Music Fife and Drum Corps, antique cars, Scout troops, area fire and rescue squads and more. The parade will proceed down Main Street and will continue on to Califon Island Park. Califon Fire Company will have food and drinks for purchase after the memorial service. The Kona Ice Truck, the Cubberly Band and more will join in the festivities. Flemington

A Memorial Day parade will take place starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 29, from Church and Main Street, with a service following at the Veterans Memorial at the intersection Main Street and Pennsvlnavia Avenue.

High Bridge

The High Bridge Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, at C.K. Hoffman Veterans Memorial Park, at the intersection of West Main Street and County Route 513, next to the NJ Transit commuter parking lot.

Readington Township

The township will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade at 10:30 a.m. at the Whitehouse Mall on Route 22 and will continue south on Route 523 for one mile, ending at the Municipal Building. Immediately following the parade there will be a ceremony at the Municipal Building commemorating fallen service personnel, and a “Community Day” celebration will take place thereafter at Pickell Park with games, hot dogs and soda, provided by the Township Recreation Department.
