We were contacted by Charles of the VFW in Oaklyn seeking some help in finding the owner of a dog tag. The dog tag belongs to Harold R. James.

Harold Ross James was born on October 5, 1904, to Frank R James and Maud M (nee Spiegle).

Tragedy struck in 1919 and his sister, Adelaide James who was born in 1909, died at the young age of 10, on March 11, 1919. She is buried in Harleigh Cemetery.

Still recovering from this loss, things continued to get worse. In 1920 Harry's father, Frank R James, was charged with the murder of Daniel Paul. Frank was found guilty and received the death penalty. He was executed on 1921. At the time of his execution, Harold was a sophmore at Camden High School.

1942 - Courier Post Article - Sgt Harold R "Jimmy" James, a South Jersey amateur golfer and author of several articles on nutrition, recently graduated from a technical school at Walter Reed Hospital. He was assigned to the Air Corps medical unit at Lakeland, FL.

1958 - Harold R. James passed away. He is buried at Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ, along with numerous other family members. He did not have any children. His wife, Katherine, passed away in 1993. His mother passed away in 1960.
