ATLANTIC CITYOn April 4, 2016, the Marine Corps – Law Enforcement Foundation (“MC-LEF”) announced that it would be honoring Major Robert Dyer, USMC (Ret)., Founder and Former CEO of RuckPack Inc. as the recipient of the Charles “Hondo” Ruch  Semper Fidelis Award.  Please join us as Major Dyer will be presented his award at the 22nd Annual Gala on June 11th 2016 at Tropicana Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

RuckPack was featured on the current hit show Shark Tank Episode 411. Major Dyer, a Major in the Marine Corps, and a professor at the US. Naval Academy, came up with the idea for RuckPack while serving in Afghanistan. Dyer and his fellow marines wanted an energy booster that would offer a quick pick-me-up, without the crash that often follows when using caffeinated, sugary drinks currently on the market. Dyer created RuckPack as a nutritional energy drink, with essential vitamins and minerals, as an alternative to the energy shots currently on the market.

“The annual Atlantic City gala is one of MC-LEF’s premier events for fundraising efforts,” said Co-Chair Michael Fedorko. “MC-LEF relies on the commitment of generous donors across the country in order to fulfill its mission to encourage the spiritual, moral, intellectual and physical development of children through education.”

Since our founding in 1995, The Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF) has awarded more than $65 million in scholarships and other humanitarian assistance, and supported over 3,600 children. Thanks to generous donors, MC-LEF has provided a $30,000 scholarship for every child who loses a parent serving in the United States Marine Corps or any Federal Law Enforcement Officer. In recent years, we have expanded our giving to provide medical equipment and financial support to catastrophically wounded Marines, as well as financial support for mentally or physically disabled children of active duty Marines (for expenses not covered by government insurance.) MC -LEF is an approved IRS 501(c) 3 organization that has been recognized for our excellence and efficiency by the Independent Charities of America. With only one paid employee, working only part-time, and a full network of over 165 volunteers, 98.4% of all donations to MC-LEF go directly to fund our mission.

In the past, MC-LEF has also aided the children of other military personnel who perished in terrorist attacks and in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
