Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, 119 N 8th St, Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, 17046 717-272-6151 The cemetery at Salem Evangelical Lutheran church no longer exists; the land was used to construct a larger chapel. In September to November, 1898, all graves were re-interred to a single vault at Mount Lebanon Cemetery with no tombstones erected. The original tombstones are in storage at the church. Some families erected a new memorial at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, if they wished. Fortunately, famed Pennsylvania historian William Henry Egle (1830-1901) recorded many of the original graves and published them in 1883 in "History of the Counties of Dauphin and Lebanon in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania" on page 140, although Egle reported some could not be read. Another list of burials from church records is published in "Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church; Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania; burial records, 1773-1876" by Frederick Weiser, 1935. (FHL Microfilm 1434022). The Lebanon County Historical Society also has a copy of the church burials.

Notice dates are a bit different, but not unusual when trying to transcribe old records - more factual based dates would probably be 1741 - 1805.
