Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors is an all volunteer organization that receives many requests for assistance every day. Because of the numerous requests we receive and because we want you to receive advice on a broad range of programs, we ask that you contact a local Va social worker, a county veteran’s advocate or military family action office to help fax or email the documents we need to review your request.

You do NOT need to email us or call us first before emailing us or faxing us the documents listed below. We don’t make a final determination until we see your actual documents and bills.

We require a DD-214, some form of documentation of an injury such as a VA rating letter or other forms of proof along with some of the bills you are behind in. We see ourselves as an emergency assistance program, so we hope that our assistance (usually one time) can give a wounded warrior some breathing room in tough times. We do not pay credit card bills or personal service loans and we do not pay the wounded warrior. Child Support, legal fees or civil or criminal fines are also not covered.

Your VA staff person, County Veteran’s Director or social worker can email the above information to help@pawoundedwarriors.org or fax it to 717-260-3622. If you have questions, the best way to get a quick answer from our all volunteer team is to email us at help@pawoundedwarriors.org. If you don’t have email, your social worker, VA staff or county veterans advocate can easily contact us by email.

With your permission, we can sometimes forward your request to other organizations that you may offer assistance. While we work very hard to assist wounded warriors in Pennsylvania, we reserve the right to check online court records to ensure, for example, that a request for car repairs by someone who was just found guilty of driving without a license is not granted. We reserve the right to deny assistance if the documents that are being provided do not match what we were told over the phone or if we find evidence of deception or a lack of an emergency situation. We have helped hundreds of wounded warriors and the number of the potential problems that would be covered by the above conditions can probably be counted on one hand.
