2021 Legion Post 405 Trip to the Museum of the Army Museum

Greetings to Members & Friends of Legion Post 405!

 

Below, find details on the RESCHEDULED Post trip. It is important that you decide if you and any family and friends will participate in the rescheduled Post Excursion!

The new dates for the Post Trip will be: Saturday and Sunday, June 26 – 27 2021
The deadline to register will now be: May 31, 2021. BUT, please let us know ASAP if you are planning on attending the Trip & Tour to the new Museum of the Army at Ft Belvoir, VA and Dedication of the Post inscription on the Major Donor Plaque to the Post and its members there.

 

New dates for the Post Excursion and Visit to the Museum of the Army – 2021 DATES: June 26 – 27, 2021.

 

Museum of the Army, Ft Belvoir, VA; Tour to Washington, D.C. to see the new WWI; WWII and Korea memorials and related sites via our coach Tentative Program Schedule

Tentative Itinerary

 

Saturday, June 26, 2021

8:00am – Depart Cannstatter VV
 9130 Academy Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19114

12 noon – Lunch on own – Old Town Alexandria, VA.

2:00pm – Depart Alexandria and potential visit the NRA Weapons Museum (if time allows).

3:00pm – Visit to the Museum of the Army at Ft. Belvoir, VA.; Visit the Museum grounds & memorials; welcome; film; tour of the Museum galleries

5:30pm – Dinner at Mission B-B-Q, Herndon, VA

6:30pm – Arrive at Hotel – Hilton Dulles

 

Sunday, June 27, 2021

Breakfast Buffet from 7am – 8:30am

9:00am – Depart Hotel for Washington

Visit the following memorials:

WWI Memorial

WWII Memorial

Lincoln Memorial

Korean War Memorial

Vietnam War Memorial

Eisenhower Memorial

Lunch on own on Washington Mall

2:30pm depart Washington.

2:45pm Arrive Arlington National Cemetery.
Wreath Laying Honor ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns

Walking tour of prominent memorials and sites

4:30pm – Depart for home

8:00pm – Return to Cannstatter VV

The date for our planned excursion to the Museum of the US Army and related attractions is nearing.

We must have a total of 35 participants to make a trip possible. The costs are based on having 35 attendees.

The deadline to reserve is May 31, 2021.
If you would, please send me a notice that you DO intend to go along. In this way, we can calculate the number of rooms at the hotel – Hilton-Dulles and for the coach.
