Camden County, in partnership with the Navy JROTC at Sterling High School, will host a Medal Ceremony in the School’s Cafeteria beginning at 3:30 PM. The public is welcome to join us for the formal program. Doors will be open by 3 PM.
Commissioner and Gold Star mother, Melinda Hopkins Kane , liaison to the county’s Office of Veterans Affairs, talked about the importance of the medals.
“These individuals deserve to be honored and celebrated for the patriotism and courage they have displayed,” Kane said. “This ceremony is just a small token of our appreciation to these veterans whose sacrifices and courage we value so much.”
The Camden County Military Service Medals were created by the Board of Commissioners to honor the veterans of Camden County who have served the United States with honor and valor. The medals include the Vietnam Service Medal, the War on Terror Service Medal, the Military Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
