The Cpl Marc T. Ryan/MCLEF 5k Run after four years of fundraising has established the Cpl Marc T. Ryan Scholarship Special Fund and will be presented to a recipient on 27 June 2015. The recipient is the widow of a Marine Major who tragically passed away on active duty and leaves a three year old son and widow. The Scholarship presentation will take place at the Iwo Jima Monument located in Arlington, Virginia at 1300 on 27 June and the Gold Star Ryan family will make the presentation. Thanks to all who have supported the Cpl Marc T. Ryan/MCLEF 5k Run since 2011. This fund is sponsored by the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation/Atlantic City Chapter.
The photo is the Gold Star Ryan Family chatting with then-Commandant of the Marine Corps General James Amos and his wife Bonnie at the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation Gala of 2013. General Amos was the Commanding General of Marine Forces is Iraq at the time Marc made the ultimate sacrifice in Ar Ramadi, Al Anbar Province, Iraq.
