Warriors Watch Posting – Honor Mission for the father of one the Warriors Watch members Scott “House”
Bard asks that we honor the memory of his hero and father, STAFF SGT. HERMAN L.
BARD, with a flag line. Staff Sgt. Bard passed away peacefully on November 21,
2014 at his residence in Riverside, NJ. Born in Riverside, NJ, He was 90 years
old.
Staff Sgt. Bard proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII.
He was a Waist Gunner aboard a F-17 Flying Fortress. During his service he
completed 14 missions over occupied territory. Staff Sgt. Bard was a POW in
Romania. He was decorated with the POW Medal, The Air Medal and The Soldiers
Medal for Heroism at The Great Risk of Life.
He retired after 40 years of service with RCA in Camden. Mr. Bard enjoyed music
and was a long time member of the Riverside Moravian Church and Covenant
Presbyterian Church Choirs.
