Department of Corrections Sgt Steven Floyd was killed in the line of duty on 2/2/17 at the correction facility in Smyrna. Cabela’s at the Christiana Mall in Newark will give the community a chance to honor and express their condolences for sacrifice Sgt Floyd made with an in-store banner signing and cookout fundraiser.
The banner signing will start on Friday the 10th and run thru end of business on Sunday the 12th.
COOKOUT will be on Saturday the 11th starting at 10:00AM and go until we run out of food.
This is a small way for us to help the public express their grief and show their support for the men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to protect and serve our community every day.
The staff of Christiana Cabela’s will present the banner to the Department of Corrections at a later date this month and all proceeds from the cookout will go to the fund set up in Sgt Floyds honor.
