We invite you to participate in the Waterford Township War Memorial Committee’s Tapper-Hicks Freedom 5K RUN / WALK. This year’s 5th Annual 5K is scheduled to start at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Atco American Legion, Post 311 (2225 Atco Avenue, Atco, NJ 08004; Camden County). Your participation will help raise money for the David M. Tapper and the Jon T. Hicks, Jr. Scholarship Funds for both Winslow and Hammonton High Schools. Both of these brave men died defending our freedoms and we want their memories to live on in the lives of four local college-bound high-school seniors – one male and one female for each scholarship. Our goal is to raise at least $4,000 for this year’s Scholarships awarded in honor of David’s and Jon’s sacrifices.
David was a 13-year Navy SEAL veteran and was in Afghanistan conducting operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (2003).
Jon was deployed to Ashraf, Iraq in Anbar Providence with the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines as an infantry assaultman (2007).
5K Run / Walk or a 1 Mile Walk; Registration: 7:45 to 8:45 am; Race Start: 9:00 am; Awards Ceremony: 10:00 am
*Only runners finishing under 40 minutes will be timed*

1st Male – $150 / 2nd– $100 / 3rd – $75; 1st Female – $150 / 2nd – $100 / 3rd – $75
1st, 2nd, & 3rd place Male and Female in each group (14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+) receive medals
