The mission of Operation First Response, Inc (OFR) is to serve all branches of our nation’s Wounded Heroes/Disabled Veterans and their families with personal and financial needs. Services are provided from the onset of injuries or illness, throughout their recovery period and along their journey from military life to the civilian world. Financial aid varies as each case is based on individual needs ranging from rent, utilities, vehicle payments, groceries, clothing, and travel expenses.  Operation First Response (OFR) delivers over 97 cents of every dollar raised to wounded soldiers and their families.

Our 12th Annual Walk for the Wounded and Warriors 5k is on May 18th 2019 at Rose Tree Park in Media, Pa.  This event helps us raise funds to meet the critical needs of our wounded soldiers and their families when they are facing significant financial challenges as their loved ones recover from injuries received during war.

On the day of our event registration opens at 8:30am for the Warriors 5k.  The run starts at 10 am.  Warrior Escort of Motorcycles & Classic cars begins at 10:30 am.  Ceremony begins at 10:45 am with our emcee Ukee Washington.  We are proud to have Major General Gronski as our military keynote speaker.  We are honored to have Diane Angstadt share her story of losing her husband, SMSgt Gregory Anstadt to cancer and how OFR helped her family.  From 12-1:30pm we will have a performance by the band The Resilient, who are wounded veterans.  We are very lucky to have them perform since receiving nationwide exposure on the CBS evening news.  If that wasn’t enough excitement for you we also have a food court, vendors, military & first responder vehicles, activities for the kids, a zip line, Eagles Helmet car, and the Phillie Phanatic!
